Easter
On Easter Sunday, we hold worship services in our Sanctuary at 8:30 a.m., 9:45 a.m., and 11 a.m. The New Heights contemporary worship service is at 11 a.m. The schedule change allows us to provide an additional worship service to accommodate a larger crowd than other Sundays.
Since 1989, we have hosted the Community Easter Sunrise Service at Riverfest Amphitheatre at Riverfront Park in Downtown Little Rock at 7 a.m. It is an ecumenical worship service in which scriptures are read by community leaders and students. Choirs from several churches and schools participate. A community offering goes to a local charity.
Easter is the day in the Christian calendar that celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Easter is the most important day in the calendar. It is celebrated on the first Sunday after the full moon on or after March 21; therefore, the date varies from March 22 to April 25.
