Stanley and Arminta Berry Music and Arts Scholarship

Applications close March 30, 2023

The purpose of this scholarship is to financially assist deserving students who are majoring in music or the arts. The successful recipient will receive a $1,500.00 scholarship that may be renewable for three additional years based upon continuing requirements. It will be applied to tuition only and sent directly to the recipient’s college or university.

Background

In 2006 and 2007, Arminta Berry made generous contributions totaling $100,000 to the Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church Foundation (PHUMC) to establish the Stanley and Arminta Berry Music and Arts Scholarship. The music and arts ministry of this church was extremely important to the late Mr. Berry and continues to be of vital significance to Mrs. Berry. When Mrs. Berry made the donation, she said, “This church has meant a great deal to our family for almost 50 years. Because of all it has done for the Berry family, I want to make a contribution to its future so that its ministries will continue to help others.” The vision and foresight of the Berry family will indeed help others in their church family for years to come as talented young people are given the opportunity to further their education in one of the arts.

Qualifications

The applicant must be an Arkansas resident and a graduating high school senior or college undergraduate enrolled in a four-year accredited college or university, and majoring in music or the arts.  Preference will be given to a student who is also a member of Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church or who has participated in Adventures in the Arts Program at PHUMC. Applications are now open and will close on March 30, 2023.
