History
In 1909 Methodist families began meeting in an Episcopal Church structure at Woodlawn & Ash Streets for Sunday School and organization meetings. Dr. A.C. Miller, presiding elder, purchased two lots at Woodlawn & Beech Streets for a future church.
Since 1909, the building has moved down the street and added buildings to its campus. The most recent addition in 2005, the Nixon Disciple Center, is one of only 10 church buildings in the U.S. to obtain LEED (Leadership Energy Environmental Design) certification for environmental frienliness.
