Missions to Children & Families
Afghan Family – Our church supports an Afghan refugee family who has settled in Arkansas. We do everything from transportation to benefit coordination to babysitting to ESL tutoring. If you would like to keep up with our Afghan team, go to phumc.com/afghan.

Methodist Family Health is a complete continuum of care for Arkansas children who are abandoned, abused, neglected and struggling with psychiatric, behavioral, emotional and spiritual issues.

Project Transformation transforms communities by engaging children, college-age young adults, and churches in purposeful relationships. Our church sends tutors to help elementary students in Pine Bluff to read once a week during the Summer.

Arkansas Dept. of Community Correction Ministry to incarcerated men with donations, including books, socks, and Christmas gifts.

Community Partnerships
Wakefield Elementary School There are several ways to support PHUMC’s partner school
- Book Drives – Help collect books for students to have.
- Give a Kid a Chance— Give school supplies, backpacks, and uniforms for nearly 400 children. Help order, unload, and sort supplies. Contact—Nancy Delacerda, ndelacerda@comcast.net or 501-664-3600.

United Women in Faith Small Groups – Join a community of women who are committed to knowing God, developing fellowship, expanding concepts of mission. We have three different UWF circles at our church that meet at different times throughout the month.

Social Justice Ministries
Peace with Justice League A group of PHUMC members who are concerned with social justice and peace-making. This group participates in local events and works toward unjust policies.

Disaster Relief
Arkansas UMC Relief The Arkansas Conference Disaster Coordinators train Early Response Teams in times of need in areas flooded, hit by storms and other disasters. They also equip teams of volunteers from churches work together on storm clean-up, home repairs, etc. for those in need.

International Collaboration/Partners
Guatemala Summer Medical Mission Trips. Doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and dentists travel to the highlands of Southwest Guatemala providing medical care and support to native Mayan people who have limited access to health care.

Ozark Mission Project Ozark Mission Project actively teaches youth how to get involved in their own communities and give back to others by providing them with firsthand experience at camp. Miracle League Buddy— Two Saturdays each year (April/October), phyouth goes to Miracle League Field to support and be a buddy to young people with special needs playing baseball. Spend the day getting to know these kids and filling them with encouragement — Ellen Rowland, 501-664-3600
