The successful recipient will receive a $1,500.00 scholarship that may be renewable for three additional years based upon continuing requirements. It will be applied to tuition only and sent directly to the recipient’s college or university.

Background

Nearly 20 years ago, Mrs. Arminta Berry made generous contributions to the Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church Foundation (PHUMC) to establish the Stanley and Arminta Berry Music and Arts Scholarship. The music and arts ministry of this church was extremely important to both Mr. and Mrs. Berry.  Since then, more than $73,000 in scholarships have been awarded to more than 20 students as they pursue their studies in art and music.  The vision and foresight of the Berry family has and will continue to help others in the PHUMC church family for many years as talented young people are given the opportunity to further their education in one of the arts.

Qualifications

The applicant must be an Arkansas resident and a graduating high school senior or college undergraduate enrolled in a four-year accredited college or university and majoring in music or the arts.  Preference will be given to a student who is a member of Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church. Applications are now open and will close on March 1, 2024.
